Unexpected accident at St. Petersburg power plant.
This was an explosion at a substation in south St Petersburg, on Vitebsky Prospect. Apparently the safeguards were tripped by the accident, and the station was unmanned, so no one was hurt.
They won’t explain exactly what happened, but due to the extreme cold right now, the government’s stepping in in unspecified ways to make sure the lights and heat stay on.
